I really want to shoot for having a music player on my site that allows anyone visiting to listen to the compositions I've created. If I have a gallery page for my visual art, and an entire wiki for my text, then it only makes sense to display my music as well.
Firstly, it'd be another great opportunity to express more of my art! Especially as a background layer that can be idly experienced while browsing any given page. I already love getting to listen to people's selected taste in music on their personal sites even without it being their own works, I'd be super hyped if I was in the position of getting to hear someone's original compositions while looking around their place!
Secondly, it's a useful reference feature to have on pages where I talk about a given track in question. Although this particular one-song-per-page usecase could be as simple as adding a Bandcamp embed to the page, that doesn't cover idle listening across pages, which I'd like to have.
Thirdly, it's nice to have a home for people to find and listen to my music outside of streaming services. A little temple dedicated solely to a listening experience with no ads or distractions. Personal websites are great for that kind of thing, after all.
Even if I'm currently lacking in works to show off on here, simply just having the outlet would motivate me to work on and complete tracks in a more structured direction.
